With 35 years of experience in Heavy Maintenance, Modification, and Repair (MRO), including 20 years at a senior level, I have demonstrated expertise in managing the maintenance of the largest fleet in Europe, consisting of 575 aircraft. During this time, I have successfully developed and operated the largest and most efficient MRO facility in Europe, spanning across 6 sites and 24 bays.
Under my leadership, this MRO facility has achieved an impressive annual output of 1.4 million maintenance hours, delivering aircraft to the highest levels of safety standards. Notably, our operations have been completed in 50% less time and at 50% lower costs compared to utilizing additional 7 bases and 20 lines of 3rd party maintenance services for the same task.
Moreover, I have spearheaded the development of an industry-leading Safety Management System (SMS), which has garnered recognition from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This SMS is now being adopted as the standard for all MRO facilities, reflecting our commitment to excellence and safety in aviation maintenance practices.
Experienced aviation professional with 32 years of industry expertise, including senior roles such as Managing Director, Group Technical Director, General Manager, and Programme Manager across global Aerospace and Aircraft Maintenance Repair Organizations. Notably held positions as UK RAF E-7 Production Programme Manager with Boeing Defense UK and Australian RAAF E-7A Maintenance Support Manager/Aircraft Modification Manager with Boeing Defense Australia. Skilled in greenfield and brownfield MRO development for major airlines, aviation maintenance organizations, and manufacturers.
Prashan holds qualifications in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Project Management. Proficient in project delivery, business capture, and capability development, with a focus on establishing global MROs. Expertise includes organizational performance management, technical management organization establishment, paperless system development, M&A strategy, and business transition management. Well-versed in event administration, proposal management, efficiency programs deployment, MRO management system implementation, recovery planning, facility optimization, and staff development.
